Been a change of plan.contractor turned up and started putting in swath.then tell him to chop.then get a call about straw so sold it.so told driver to swath again.amazong as i been trying for weeks to find a home for it then combine drivers boss says someone will have it.oh well,just hope not too much compaction

I sold it, it was like dried autumn leaves and the farmer said it was the best bedding straw ever and got a trailer load of stone thrown in for free,

Free..was it not added or included in the weight of the load...crafty

Bought the trailer this year and put the greedy lades on it, That is the first load of bales I have put on it

Bit shorter this year but quality seems better, it is breaking up more

Buying my straw in the swath at a price per round bale. I'm baling it myself, 5 ish to the ton.

That's what I thought and that trailer is 4 ton so with 30 bales its still only 10 ton, I would put 7 on top but some folk won't trim up there trees

I chopped the headlands on my barley and I have chopped half of my rape.
I don't normally use the straw chopper as we bale everything, but was surprised how much fuel it guzzled with those knives whizzing round!
Think it uses about 20% more fuel, would this sound about right?
