Two glamping pods here - shut end Oct to end of March . A few bookings drifting in and for longer periods which is better - busy as normal last year but a high percentage of last minute bookings.

Wales up in arms as the draconian Senedd propose harsh letting criterias, 300% increase in rates by the Valuation office and local Authorities PLUS Tourism tax levy on bookings so a true worry for all genuine bonafide tourism diversification and businesses 😡

I have one with Sykes nearly Full ,the other two with a different agent at a higher price point which are slower than normal. I think its to early to discount.
We should all hold on as i think as some have commented on here there will be more last minute bookings.

We seem to be getting lots 2/3 night stays booked a week or two in advance. Took another one first thing this morning fur 17th Feb.

That means feb is at 80% booked. Thought it would be a slow month other than half term.

July and august filled up before Christmas.

And we are Helpful holidays which is Sykes as well

Do you guys want to share your websites/cottages? If ever I get a chance to go away I'd prefer to book from a TFF owner if one about in region I'm heading, and on slight possibility I can get away from feeding the cows.

Here’s mine:

Doing good bookings for 2023.

2nd one catching up now after a slow start.
3rd one coming on stream this month.

Biggest gamble we've ever made.
Both Part Q conversions.

How long have you been with Sykes? How are you finding them?

4 years and 2 years.
They can bloody charge but everything is done right.
I'm just the lawnmower driver on a Friday.

I think pages are due an update and Sykes are always keen to discount the quiet weeks to get a booking.

Weekends still all full and booking well in advance- 2- 3months. Weekdays are abit slow at the moment, what comes in is usually booked 3-4 days before the date, whereas they were booking more in advance. Still early in the year yet though.

We have been looking carefully at costs but not compromising on the stay-faction.

Anyone clobbered with Business Rates increases or 2nd Home owners classification and hugh rates increases.
Looks like genuine Tourism businesses need to be licensed soon and those on Airbnb also allegedly so Valuation office be after all them too.
