I have heavy land where I have been growing 2 wheats and OSR for 15 yrs and have seen OSR yields slowly drop off from 4.4 t/Ha to around 3.2 t/Ha. Also black grass is inevitably creeping in.
I am now pushing out rotation with a spring barley and hoping to go wheat/wheat/SB/wheat or winter barley then OSR.
Will planting winter stubble turnips for sheep grazing before spring barley provide a soil health and disease carrier for OSR diseases?
