The war in Ukraine...

Not sure it does, more the case of politicians unable now to back track from what they've started but not prepared to do enough for Ukraine to actually win so they provide just enough to keep them from losing regardless of losses.
Not sure it appeals to voters?.
You think the majority want to abandon ukraine or go all in?
Neither of those has ever been the majority view on tff!

Majority of voters have no interest what ever in what happens in Ukraine far more concerned in what affects their own lives, when was the last time there was an anti Russian pro Ukrainian protest.

the flags were a pro ukrainian protest, though have mostly come down round here.

Agree broadly that people don't care enough to go to war with them.

If you were naive enough to listen to NATO leaders & politicians the channel by lunch time. 🤔
Nobody has said anything like that. But we wouldn't want to listen to the people who who actually understand the situation when we have your mate in the pub. Still, in reality we are already at war with Russia and have been for decades, propaganda and opinions are all part of that game.

So basically you are now admitting Russia was correct in not wanting Ukraine in NATO if we were already at war, you can’t have it both ways

Where Nato begins.
They not that stupid to take on nato when they can not even crush Ukraine.
Never underestimate russia, particularly their capacity for making bad decisions. putler believes he has sufficient political and power capital to allow him to spend as many as 5 million russian lives just so long as the empire machine grinds forward. NATO governments have nothing like such an asset. putler considers our western value towards life as our biggest weakness, he thinks he can drive wedges between members and will never need to take on NATO whole. He has ownership of trump already. Without the US, NATO isn’t all that much more of a force than Ukrainians fighting on their own turf, at least that’s what russians (and putin) are told.

Finland Sweden and the Baltic states are looking at a blockade of the Baltic sea to Russian shipping in response to electronic warfare attacks on civilian aircraft.
Rumours only at this point.
Saw this earlier in the week on a US military forum, but just as the shave, nothing to substantiate it. It lead to quite an interesting couple of threads... The key player you didn't name is, clearly, Denmark.

The consensus is that it should be flagged as a clear warning to Russia to stop f***ing around and, if that doesn't work, to be introduced in increments.

Never worked with the Finns because, obviously, their NATO membership came decades after I left the Army; but we had 'observers' a few times and they were always very professional - that written, you don't send your idiots to represent you on foreign jollies...
