Has anyone seen or used a Topcon System 114 with the X14 screen? We're considering it versus the Trimble 250.

Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with either one but isn't X14 upgradable up to RTK autosteer while Trimble 250 is pretty much restricted to EGNOS for steering guidance?

I would only consider something that can be upgraded to RTK autosteering because sooner or later one would like to have that (at least for anything else than the most simple tasks).

Yes, it is upgradable, but if the screen is to small or the software crap who cares? Hence the question.

If the screen is not upgradable, who cares about that device? Why did you have the Trimble 250 option then?

My intention was not to promote X14 or any other device. Considering the screen size, on autosteer I hardly need the screen at all. On my 10" screen I usually have one quarter assigned for autosteer and find it more than sufficient. Much less are than the X14 has. I understand that on manual steering/guidance only one might prefer a bigger screen. I don't even know the X14 screen size. For reference, my experience about the Amazone GPS Switch is that the screen is more than sufficient.

If the Topcon 114 has an AGI4 receiver, which uses Egnos and GNSS for correction then IME it will produce far better results than the Trimble 250 on Egnos alone.

System 144 uses the AGI4, 114 the SGI1(?). Comparing it to a 250 with external antenna for guidance initially. So screen size is an issue.

X14 with SGR-1 is like any modern Lightbar , accurate to approx 35-50cm
Thanks rob, can you map and save fields on it? I've got a patchwork at the moment but the bloody thing keeps going wrong so going to change for something similar but hopefully more reliable!

Yes you can but bear in mind it's a small screen. Ps, no Lightbar on egnos supports Glonass.
When you say supports glonass, is that a paid subscription or free one? Does look a bit on the small side tbh. It's only for fert spreading but obviously I need to see the screen well. Do topcon make a bigger one or is it a lot more money?
