There doesn’t look like an attractive option available to vote for
Perhaps Clive should start a TFF Party :scratchhead:

There's always plenty of us on here setting the world to rights, running the country will be a doddle compared to scratching a living from a farm.

Put me down for Minister of the Environment .......

1) I'll gas axe all the wings off every plane that lands in the UK and make us net zero overnight.

2) Reopen Selby coalfield and run Drax on proper fuel instead of mamby-pamby woodchips from Canada.

3) Line up all current politicians against the wall and shoot the lot.

4) The list is endless.....

The Fecking Tories have taken what was a simple system & imposed a system where every farmer in England will live in fear of an RPA inspection, I don’t care how clever you are just as there will always be a cow or sheep without a tag then just like Red Tractor they will always find something you have done wrong, thank Christ I’m 68 or else farming would not be for me.
One things for sure I will never vote Tory again in my lifetime

Was putting a roof on for an ex big city banker, he was under the impression that all farmers made a good living and were relatively wealthy. When I explained the reality of livestock farming, especially tennant farmers he was quite shocked. He asked why we bothered doing it....
Certainly isn’t for the returns.
However having considered what makes me bother getting out of bed in the morning I have decided to carry on keeping my cattle despite a horrible winter.
If I didn’t have my cattle what would I fill my time with? I have watched others of my generation who have retired from other jobs. Most of them appear to have to play golf! No thanks.

Looks a fair bit of kit, you will struggle to break that, reminds me of the Allis chalmers we used to load lime with, fecking animal that was, it had no door or window and you couldn't get out of it with the loader up, I had a pipe blow one day and just had to get covered in oil till the loader hit the floor as I couldn't get out the way fecking running off me :ROFLMAO:

The only thing, I would have issue with, in the film, is saying, subsidy levels to protect farmers jobs is a national issue. We had a leader here in Wales (Mark Drakeford) who's opinion was "they voted for Brexit", so they can do one. He also wondered how a Bangladeshi taxi driver in Cardiff would feel about farmers getting subsidies. I would not trust any aspect of agricultural policy to the Labour party. We had a TB advice visit from the vet (paid for by the Welsh Assembly) where Anwen gave advice about badger proofing the farm buildings, water troughs etc, and Mark Drakeford stood up in the assembly (the same week) and said TB was nothing to do with badgers.

i love my farm and my cattle but all my stress is caused by margins being to tight ,where i should pay somebody else because of to high a workload for my health ,i struggle on and do it myself, yes stock prices are higher but not the margin, replacements are far higher to buy in and everything is costing a lot more, bottom line is still food is to cheap, They have more in there pocket with wage increases more needs to be spent on food, or few will bother producing it,
