Pulled it for a couple of seasons with 145 but 160+ would be best.
Cleated tyres are a big improvement on the old flat section ones that could push a 'bow wave' and really increase the draught.

No, sorry. We never got a good offer on it, which was lucky as the other drill has now gone and the trusty Rapid is back working as well as ever.
Ah ok. Out of curiosity what did you have? Trying to source a good quality used Horsch or Vaderstad if I can. Rarely see a bad crop behind those kind of drills.

Direct drilling not the silver bullet you thought it was?

Rarely see a bad crop behind a plough and power harrow!
Not sure I ever thought or implied it was!? Not compatible with our rotation with peas and potatoes. Indeed, the plough is almost always the safest option. We're getting as good if not better results just with deep non inversion tillage too. Benefit of much more level and consolidated seedbeds, especially when putting in grass for silage. Wouldn't do it year in year out though. Ploughing often enough easily the easiest way to keep brome at bay.
