Welger RP 435 round baler net problems

I had problems last night with the net cutting system on my RP 435. It runs fine on edge to edge but to finish off I put in a roll of cheaper net that i borrowed from the contractor who wraps with me. He runs this brand of net all season with no problem in a Vicon baler.

On every bale the knife would trip but the net wouldn't cut so the net kept running. I've adjusted the brake up slightly but still no joy.

Compared to edge to edge this net has less weaves in it but they are stronger. My take on the problem is because of this the knife and brake in conjunction can't break the stronger threads. This leads me to think I need to turn, replace, adjust the knife.

I like edge to edge wrap but there is a £40 per roll premium on it. Therefore it's in my interests to cure this problem at least for silage as all the wrap has to do is hold the bale together before its wrapped.

Any ideas anyone before I wade in adjusting things?

Turning the net knife should sort it,if not you may need to turn the anvil which is not so easy.Edge to edge net is worth using on silage,if you have bales with untidy edges you will use more wrap which will completely outweigh any cost saving with cheap net!,as well as keeping more air out which will make better silage.

Just a blunt knife, just sharpen it up a little, i have gone back to 3000m net cause its stronger, on the mchale fixed there is a lot of pressure on wettish grass,i was having bales bursting open, the net was breaking even on 3 wraps. I used to run 3600, but now switched back to 3000 m rolls. I have found the 3000m similar weight to the 3600m, therefore i now get away with putting less on per bale cause its stronger stuff.

Sounds like that dreadfully strong MVF netwrap that's like fishing line as it's just to strong for anything but a sharp blade.
Any one that cuts netwrap off a Bale hates it

Yes, I tried an alternative net on my 520. Had to turn the anvil to get it to cut. But when using the (straw) bales the bloody stuff would cut the hands off you. Swift return to e2bale.

Iv used both the tamma class 3600 and the mvf performance hd. I prefer the class stuff as it seems to keep the bales tighter. The mvf stuff still does ok. To be honest if im baling for other folks il use the tamma for my own il use owt. It sounds like your knife needs turning.
The trouble im having is not the knife cutting in but it putting too many layers on even when the wing nut is at the bottom of the scale. Iv put a new nurled brass thing on but could it be the ratchet bearing behind it?

Was it working as it should before you changed net ? First thing make sure netting area is clean, behind the net rollers, if it's not spreading tighten the net break, when you lock the bar up with an r clip you should just be able to move the roll with some force. Foam spreader bar needs bent to spread the net. Try a different roll of net, I've had the odd bad roll of net ! I put 100,000 bales on a 435 and once the net was set their pretty bomb proof
