16:32 would work betterWe doubled up 8:16 to 16:16 and I wish I had a 16:36or 20/40
Im thinking about a new parlour and was wondering what peoples opinions on the best type of parlour?
I want to milk 100 cows fast, efficient and single handed. Currently milking in a 8 - 16 with jars, no ACRs. My cows are terrible for kicking clusters off.
Definitely don't agree that it's number of units that affect throughput, I used to milk in a 90deg 20 40, it was no faster and also much more than work than a 16 32 locallyMilk 100 cows with a 20 40 with swing over arms and fold down wash tray no more sticking up jetters.cows stand straight so milk through the back legs and very rarely have trouble with cows kicking clusters more likely to kick one another!! I had the cluster kicking problem in the old 8 16 herringbone Whatever you decide the thing to remember is its units that milk cows so put in as many as possible , im not as young or fast as i used to be but i find the 20 40 very easy and fast as you only have five lines.
Why was it more work ? I would hase thought 4 extra cows a line would mean you were washing up in the 2040 when you would still have a line to milk in the 16 32 . Also in a 90 degree parlour you have less walking as the cows are tight which is a big help .Definitely don't agree that it's number of units that affect throughput, I used to milk in a 90deg 20 40, it was no faster and also much more than work than a 16 32 locally
Far far too much time taken to load the cows in the 20 40, also a very awkward parlour, almost impossible to get all 20 clusters on before first cow finishedWhy was it more work ?
