Maybe, but they do look good, even with the oil stains underneath .
fine if the oil is black...
expensive if it goes grey!

Actually 103 BHP (98 DIN hp) the rest of it is about right though. They were a good option to the 7610 with column gears but became pretty much pointless when the super Q cabs came out.7710 was basically a 7610 with a jacked up cab, longer wheelbase and extra fuel tank stuck above the engine, it looked big and butch, but it was still only 90 horses hiding under the huge bonnet

thought that S3 7610 was about that amount as well, albeit with a rotary pump?
think the S3 7610 was a couple of hp more. I certain I'm right about the S2 models though. I owned one for over 17 years.thought that S3 7610 was about that amount as well, albeit with a rotary pump?
I thought they had inline pumps on the 4 cyl aswell?
I suppose it also depends what's worn out and been replaced with something different over the years. It is the best part of 24 years since that family of engines stopped going down the production line.think the mixed and matched whatever was in the parts bin, seen 5000s with inlines, with rotarys, same with 10 series 4 pots,

Could have had a replacement engine. There is a rumour that on very rare occasions an odd one had issues with the engine block going porous!rotary and inline not a straight swap though surely, mounting flanges totally different, as is pipework
no doubt someone has the reason as to why you see both pumps fitted to basically the same engines

Worked at a farm in late 1980's where each year we had 7 Ford 7610's delivered, at the 1st service they were always dynoed to make sure all was well, the PTO output ranged dramatically from 90 hp to 115, these days electronic fuel delivery systems ensure a much more accurate HP rating

102 horses, or maybe 104
6 of one and half a dozen of the other, 7610 a few lbs lighter and a couple of hp less, 7710 a bit heavier and the couple of hp more it had lost in hauling itself about, think they even had the same tyre sizes?
