Which simple gps system for a dairy farm?

Hi I am no longer involved with Hexagon - Leica having left that business in October last year.
After several years working with Leica I have now moved to A S Communications, while my main responsibility is the new Soil Scout wireless monitoring system I will of course be involved with Trimble product in the future.
Soil Scout monitors temperature, moisture and salinity of Soil or Biomass the data can be view easilly allowing growers to build a long term picture of conditions, would be keen to show people this new product.

I would not be without one now, apart from anything else, having an accurate GPS speed readout and accurate field measurements will make sprayer calibration etc so easy.
Mojomini does fine here for fert and spraying, I build in 0.3m overlap and never have any problem with misses even on gentle undulations.
Find out if Patchwork has facility to plumb in an auxilliary coverage on/off switch into the screen mounted box, that you could mount say, on a spool lever or next to a sprayer on/off switch. Mojomini does not.
You will be told this is not important, but if you want to get accurate area coverage figures, eg when drilling or spraying part fields etc, then it certainly would be very handy indeed. Unless you are an octopus, you will be unable to simultaneously reach the windscreen mounted GPS device coverage on/off switch, the machine on/off control, and operate the tractor lift or steering or PTO controls.

Trimble EZguide works well for me like others have said spraying and fert spinning it's great, used it for opening fields out mowing or rolling. Would say it easily pays for itself just with fert spinning after silaging!

Just to add, after 2 years use, my Mojomini internal battery must be knacked, unit all works fine when connected to loom on tractor (which in reality is all the time) but unplug screen unit, and battery warning soon comes up. No idea if this is fixable and it does not detract from use of unit.
SD card function seems a waste of time too, since you are not really able to store any useful information other than which field you have been in.

Ok i got some prices from patchwork. You can buy direct from them cutting dealers out. The eco model is £1000 and the eco+ is £1250. The advantages of eco+ are a better dustproof box and it remembers previously worked fields whereas the eco doesnt.
I tend to think the extra £250 should be worth it.
I'm getting a price from Paxtons for trimble system just for comparison. Are there any opinions over which is best between a trimble vs patchwork?

MickW sold me a leica Mojo-Mini (then jumps ship ) - we have been v pleased - spraying, fert, mowing, panbusting - easily paid for itself by extending work hours alone

Sure it will be a Patch but doesn't effect accuracy either way? It does on other makes though.

I'm interested in something similar to yourself @Sparkymark. Did you look at the Patchwork BlackBox Go as well. It's another £250 more than the eco+ but wondered if you think it's worth considering. Any news on Trimble prices?

Hi, there seems to be so many systems out there now. Does anyone have any advice on which system would be a very simple one that was easy to use and good value. I'm not interested in lots of bells and whistles, i'm just a dumb farmer who needs to know where i should be driving.
Spraying and fert spreading in grassland would be my main uses for it.
Any advice welcome.
