A hard cold long winter, and a 76 repeat next year, never seen our reservoirs so low since 75 nor the same amount of yield on fruiting trees

Yes. Wouldn't take any notice long term. Didn't our esteemed weather forecasters have a get together in May and predict a wet summer and possibly another ten in a row after that!! We then got the hottest June, July for over ten years!

Depends which weather forecast you watch or use. I use weather web alot and always seems to be on the money and talk a lot of sence. The long term forcast that Simon give seem to be close enough. I give up with the Met waist of time watching the beeb.

I fully expect winters to be harder on average over the next couple of decades, due to the Grand Solar Minimum we are currently entering. The full effects of the Minimum on the UK's climate will be tempered by the state of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation - its currently generally positive, but if it turns negative (as it was from about 1960-1995) we could expect colder winters, but drier warmer summers, like the 60s and 70s I guess.
