10 day old saw. Cutting up the big cherry it is sat on. Had the trunk cut in 2 but was wedged. Tried cutting a branch underneath, nearly went needed another half inch cut, so nibbled at it and it moved pinched the saw and pulled bar with it. Good job the whole saw didn't get squashed.

My fault, less haste needed
think we've all been there funny how its always the new saw that gets squished done the same on my week old stihl but not quite as much damage but still needed a new bar

He was obviously tanking it...

Are the fuel cans there just to ensure that its unfixable from an insurance point of view....?!
In the blurb, it was said that the civilian recovery firm were REALLY milking it. Draining fuel/oil/water, removing personal effects from the cab, erecting 'personnel zones'... they even had a chap in a tent making brews full-time! This sill OshKosh things are supposed to be hopeless on the road - too tall, too squishy... typical Yank tanks. You'd never see a Commander on it's side!

(It would go fast enough to get the momentum to roll)

I think they have a reputation for deposing their loads on roundabouts. Apparently even when they were being demoed to the army one dumped it's tank on a roundabout. Apparently the deck is also on the narrow side so any slippage by the tank and over it all goes. But that's privatisation for you.

The old 50 and 60 tonne trailers were a tadge over 10' wide (10' 3''), weren't they? The newbies are 8'.

So this was the car carrier tricolor that sunk in the channel a few years back i came across this cracking video of how they recoverd the wreck by cutting it it to 9 pieces with a wire rope cutter and then lifting the the 2000 ton piece on to barges
Its a great story well worth watching if you get 25 mins
