27mm yesterday/last night, foul out there now 3C so not exactly warm either, very very heavy showers. Supposed to get worse tonight and into tomorrow. Oh joy!

Very windy here but has been for the last 3 months. Seem to have missed the worst of the rain so far but are having heavy squally showers.
Tomorrows forecast is for 60 mph winds.

Since the met office started naming these storms I'm sure things have worsened. Wind howling in the Peak District right now, ground sodden. Think it's time to start pricing up a hovercraft...

Yesterday at 2pm I tipped 18mm out of the gauge thinking we had seen the worst of the rain. Still raining on and off as I went in to watch the rugby. At 9pm I had a call to go and rescue someone just down the road from a flooded bridge. Nearly all the roads around had water on them you wouldn't of take a family car through and ditches and a couple of small brooks flooded roads. This morning I tipped another 18mm out of the gauge. Today has been quite nice until now and it is coming down heavier than anything we had yesterday!
