worst I've seen here for years, reckon the rain made autumn sprays short lived and broadway star seems to have done very little this spring
Rye grass and not blackgrass thankfully, but 2024 is certainly not a year where its easy to take a lot of pride in a farm
Is it just me or are others...

What chemical options are people using to control black grass in forage maize?
Last year I used PDM pre-em and a nicosulfuron post em but poor results.
Would dual gold or wing -P alongside PDM be a more robust pre-em option for black grass ? I know they are not cheap!!
thanks
Have you taken a look at Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs(Defra) Farming Equipment & Technology Fund #fetf2024 - offering 60% discount off a combine mounted weed seed reduction system. The Redekop Manufacturing Inc SCU is available as part of this with Oria Agriculture, as seen...

With apologies to those struggling to get their first N on

Having a go at fodder beet for first time in my "career"...
South coast, dry sandy free-draining soils. Beet is for grazing store cattle over winter. Have bought a grazing variety.
Any useful advice for a first-time grower?
Thanks in advance 👍
Please feel free to correct me but where is the sense in spring cropping now?
Does it makes more sense to put in a wild flower mix or some other rotational SFI action?

.... sadly going into liquidation. As a (very) small investor I think this is a pity as they have come such a long way, but some big money didn't come through for them so they have had to pull the plug.
