Devon County Show Partners with Iventis to Digitise Agricultural Show Planning Process

Devon County Show is delighted to announce a partnership with Iventis which takes the mapping of the showground to an entirely new, digital level.

The visual event planning technology, developed by Iventis, provides a range of tools that bring together mapping and CAD data into an easy-to-use visual format for precise, real-time event planning.

It is the functionality of layers that make up the bedrock of the new Devon County Show digital plan, enabling the team to plan out the 600 hundred stands on the 96-acre showground both quickly and efficiently.

“Planning the positioning of trade stands has always been one of the greatest team challenges”, says Lisa Moore, Devon County Show Manager and acting CEO. “With the Iventis visual planning platform, we can simply use the layering capability to show each trade stand its correct position, as well as include as much in-depth information about that business as we want - not only their contact details, but also what they sell and their web address. Once inputted, this information is then available for the entire team to access with one easy click.

“Latterly, we have admittedly been stuck a little bit in the dark ages - using an A3 map between us all which was filled in as each booking came in by hand. Whilst it has been an effective way of logging bookings, it’s a time-consuming exercise which needs to be started from scratch each year. The Iventis planning tool makes the process more streamlined, but the overriding benefit of the technology is the ability to collaborate and communicate plans with our traders. Formerly, we would send each trader a printed map, with the position of their stand manually highlighted. Now, using Iventis, we can share their location on the showground with the touch of a button, as well as provide them with the most direct route to reach it. Not only has this freed up precious time for the team and the traders, but it has also saved us a considerable sum of money in postage costs.

“There are benefits too for the Devon County Show visitor. Instead of relying on a PDF or referring to a printed map in the show guide to plan their visit, visitors will be able access a digital, public facing map from the Devon County Show website and pan in and out of particular areas of the showground. We hope to be able to further develop the visitor offering with Iventis, allowing them to plot their route in advance, click on a trade stand and read about the trader as well as see their web address.”

Iventis is keen to help other agricultural shows plan their events digitally and is delighted that Devon County Show decided to partner with Iventis.

Commenting, CEO and Founder, Joe Cusdin, said:

“We're thrilled to partner with the Devon County Show, a prestigious show in the agricultural events landscape, and look forward to working with Lisa and her team to help to bring the show to life. We’re committed to helping agricultural show organisers digitise their event planning process, making the process easier, faster, and more enjoyable for everyone involved.”
