Looking wellDD WW skyfall after beans.

Definitely better, it will be interesting to see how the roots go down, as the season progresses. There is a field of extase min tilled, and put in with the Vaddy, drilled on the same day that puts it to shame at the moment, but I doubt there will be any difference at harvest.Looks
How are you finding the soil structure and drainage having used the Simtech for a little while now?
What drill and catch crop did you use?Considering how crap it's looked all winter, this wheat has no right looking this good.
All drilled 16/17 Oct, on top of the Quantocks so it started on the back foot. Applied 50kgN as urea on Feb 5th

Well done for posting that. There’s an awful lot of that around; here included. Are you going to cut some spring cereals straight in or LD subsoil first? It’s something I’m musing about at the moment.View attachment 11656211st ww after linseed. 100Ha of dd has all completely failed here this year.
I just think this thread needed some balance. Last year our DD crops were good, this year in a wet year on heavy land its a disaster. The water just cant get away quick enough. Im beginning to think its just too un-reliable in our climate on heavy soils. Will probably spring tine it and put something else in this spring but the fields are in a real state.Well done for posting that. There’s an awful lot of that around; here included. If that was mine I’d be ploughing when conditions improve to give it a chance to dry outI just think this thread needed some balance. I totally agree, agronomist says not to drill to early, I'm really impressed in how it has powered out of the ground this year. Unfortunately none DD'dExtase is a very, very fast growing variety.
It's going bonkers here compared to mayflower, Skyfall and Crusoe.
I think it's definitely got a place
