In 2014 Parker was appointed chairman of the National Trust, an unpaid role. In May 2021 the National Trust announced that he would be stepping down in October 2021.[41]

Parker became chairman of Post Office Ltd in October 2015,[42] in the midst of a long dispute between the Post Office and a number of subpostmasters over problems with its Horizon computer system.[43] In June 2016, he told subpostmasters that replacing the Horizon system would "incur considerable risk".[43] The faulty Horizon system was responsible for hundreds of subpostmasters being accused of accounting fraud and theft since its installation in 1999, and dozens of false convictions.[44] In December 2019, the Post Office agreed to a £58 million settlement, and a High Court judge ruled that bugs, errors, and defects in the Horizon system caused shortfalls in branch accounts.[45] In October 2020, after the Post Office conceded appeals by 44 former subpostmasters to overturn convictions linked to the Horizon accounting scandal, Parker issued an apology, stating "I am sincerely sorry on behalf of the Post Office for historical failings which seriously affected some postmasters. Post Office is resetting its relationship with postmasters with reforms that prevent such past events ever happening again. Post Office wishes to ensure that all postmasters entitled to claim civil compensation because of their convictions being overturned are recompensed as quickly as possible. Therefore, we are considering the best process for doing that".[46][47][48] The prosecution by Post Office Ltd of 732 subpostmasters in relation to the faulty Horizon system is described as the biggest miscarriage of justice in British history.[49] He resigned as chairman of Post Office Ltd on 30 September 2022.[50]

In April 2018, Parker was appointed chairman of Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS), effective 27 April 2018.[51] He left HMCTS in December 2022.[52]

Surely its not April 1st. How on earth could anyone make this up. Chairman of both Post Office and HMCTS. If there was any real justice then people like this need to be serving time at the Kings pleasure.

There is a petition if anyone wants to sign it

That's a start - and there is, also, the petition to have Paula Vennells' CBE removed.

Personally I'd rather give Alan Bates and his cohorts some money to fight their cases and reduce their legal costs.

Is there a Just Giving page - or similar?

The comments on the PO programmes which I remember are as follows:

Jo asked “where did my money go?”.
CEO (Vennells) on the radio, was proud to announce that the PO would not need to go to government for cash.
Forensic accountant described a ‘suspense’ account. This should have been regularly audited. Money laundering?
The PO suspense account appears to have missed that bit and Jo’s cash, together with £Ks more, was slid into profit.
Job done?

Who were the auditors? How was this cash accounted for?

Fujitso on the programme, appeared to have had a room with terminals linked to sub postmaster’s Horizon kit.
These were operated all night, creating losses for the post master.
Is this true? Because if it is, this corporate theft was a deliberate act to slim down the PO branches.

I think Fujitsu seem to be getting away lightly, they designed a system that was flawed and should be taken to account.
They also it was reported, denied remote access was possible. It was. (Parliamentary enquiry clip)
So was there a flaw, a blip, or was that access deliberate?

All emphasis is on the victims, but the perpetrators need the same scrutiny, if not more.

A major share holder of Fujitsu is Infosys.
A major shareholder of Infosys is Mrs Sunaks family.
Mrs Sunak took £20 million in dividends from Infosys last year.
BUSINESS

Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty lands £6.7 million Infosys payout
Murty has collected over £20 million in dividends over the past twelve months

They only got so far because some anonymous people, with a lot of money, backed the solicitors, as they could see the wrongdoing. Without this, nothing would have come to light, and those poor folk would still be stuck with criminal records. There was no justice in the end, with those within the PO being protected.
But the PO are not the only ones who think they are above the law. Most large Government organisations are teflon plated and the ordinary person has no chance if they try to point out a problem. They will, at best, be ignored, or worse, victimised.
This was clear with the River Lugg guy.
You have to have deep, deep pockets to get justice sometimes.
What do u mean “sometimes”????
Deep pockets win every time, justice doesnt exist in britain if you arent loaded.

It's right what you chaps say about the likes of EA and natural England. We are just a bunch of little people putting up with their rules they make up and we just have to accept it or we are braking the law. We look at other countries with dictators in charge, but our country isn't much better with politicians feathering their own nests.

Our dictators are just better at hiding their actions behind smokescreens and layers of bureaucracy.

Looks like I will lose my farm this year to a Times wealthy 200 fraudster who has made millions out of a development next to my land and has abused the court system to obtain my farm. Still trying to fight it but since the automatic right to Appeal was removed in English courts justice has ceased to exist for the average Joe.

The PO, as the client in the project, will have signed it off at go-live date so the onus is really on them. They clearly have agreed to go live with the provisio of the Fujitsu team doing the overnight "adjustments", but again that risk is on the PO

How is that possible?

By similar means as D.Trump making life unbearable for the chap farming in the way of Trump's Scottish golf course, presumably.
Right or wrong doesn't count, it is political contacts and pockets that seem to matter.

Private Eye published this excellent piece setting out the whole sorry saga a few years ago.

Imho anyone who knew the prosecutions weren't safe and failed to raise the alarm should face criminal charges (perjury for those who actually gave evidence to ANY court including at appeals) and ALL performance bonuses they received should be recovered.

Anyone involved at boardroom level should be banned from further public office for life.
