Grass growth

It can hardly be expected to grow when we're getting frosts at night and still perishing in the day. Meant to warm up next week and I expect things will explode.

Definitely has th capacity to make up ground. Trouble is of ot starts growing at a silly speed it might be lacking a bit of nutrition, particularly trave elements. Funny time that's for certain.

It better hurry up or I will be in the sh1t. I’ve got 156 ewe lambs in a shed, coming up to a month, because the ewes and lambs have taken priority and I can’t push them together yet.
I ordered some 20/10/10 last week to put on grazing ground, I’ve never done that before.

My lawn needs cutting again.
However areas of permenant pasture that had a late cut of hay in that bit of 2023 that didnt rain simply havent recovered and are brown over. Been too wet to get any slurry on but got some bagged on the grass ley. The section thats in its third and final year looks absolute crap compared to the second year portion. Its all going into wheat, so will get at most two cuts.

Plate metering weekly at the moment.

Herbal leys are coming on well. Deferred grazing permanent pasture used for cow turn out has recovered sufficiently for lambing ewes.

Higher permanent pasture is less growthy. But it will get there soon enough.

Putting cows into covers of 33-3500. Leaving a 1500 residual. Have another week of this then into the permanent pasture that's at higher altitude, but lower covers. Mostly 25-2800.

Havnt got a lot of grass here in Cumbria and it isn't growing much but I've definitely had a lot less grass at lambing time some years than this
