If you are seriously wanting growers to commit acres to growing millet for you maybe offer up some contracts with decent incentives. Backed up with some agronomy advice for mostly first time grower.
millet is grown here in western Canada. Mostly for cattle feed as a whole crop but some for the birdseed market. Heard it can become quiet a weed in following crops.

I was about to mention volunteers as it was the first thing that popped into my head.

How do you get on combining it? I saw pretty big areas of millet/sorghum being grown in some parts of the states, it was absolutely loaded with birds though.

Price is key.
I’ve grown it be before, late harvest and tricky to combine but it certainly helps hold pheasants.
It’s on a different level to any other crop.

Never grown it myself but if it will go thru a combine I’d grow it for the right money. More of a dry land long season crop and that’s not my ground here. 120 days of growing and that’s pretty much it here. After that your at the mercy of Mother Nature both ends of the season regards frost
