Moving Pellets

Hi all,

Interesting observation after assessing the traps today.

I applied sluxx on friday just gone and have found some pellets under the lids. Our stocks slug pelleter is good, but not that good! Has anybody else seen this before? I'm guessing this has been moved here by a slug to dine on later.

Are slugs known to move there food around with themselves? I've not heard this before.

Hi, I think what will have happened is that the pellets became stuck onto the slime on the body wall of the slug. As you suggest, they can then be carried under the trap when they move onto the refuge during the day. Eventually some will rub off the body again and so can be found on the slug and/or on the ground. So the slugs are not putting them into their pantry on purpose but may have done so my luck! As a matter of interest were there a lot of pellets under the trap or just a few?

I have also been observing the same thing happening - did a count today and found several under several traps too.
