Snail killing flies

I’ve discovered in a publication from my local wildlife trust that there are such things as snail killing flies, some of which live in grasslands and kill slugs as well. It’s the larval stage that parasitises the snails and slugs apparently.
Are these worth investigating as part of possible control measures - any BOFINs care to elaborate?

Can you post some information? One limitation that comes to mind is whether you can actually control the predator so use it to your advantage. You can apply nematodes in a spray. Perhaps you could attract in the flies with pheromones?
