Hi all,

Anybody else finding squatters in there traps lately?

I've found about 10 nests in some of my traps, I'm assuming they're field mice. Perhaps somebody could confirm?

Thanks,

This is encouraging for the experiment. Although breeding can happen throughout the year there are usually two peaks, in the spring and autumn. The wet weather will have encouraged egg laying but if it is so wet that the soil gets close to waterlogging then adult/juvenile survival is lowered with the logical impact on egg laying. So, your site may have a strong population. Not so good for the crop but good for the experiment - do your slug cpunts reflect this possibility?
