The Rwanda Plan

Sunak has basically promised his party and the country that his legislation is strong enough to get flights off the ground. Whether the plan is a good idea and value for money I don't knoe. But if he gets it put into law and the hr lawyers tear it to pieces then he should resign before the next election

Just save the bother and expense and call the election and be done with.
He won't though as he wishes to make it the strange hill to die on.

£400 million to send about 200 people to Rwanda……no, it’s ridiculous. 10s of thousands come seeking asylum each year so the minuscule chance of being sent to Rwanda stands no chance of deterring them from crossing the channel. Rishi, himself, knows that Johnson never intended for the scheme to be taken seriously, it was just another distraction at a difficult time for him. Unfortunately the lunatics in the Conservative Party seem to scare him into one hare-brained scheme after another.

£400 million and up until 2023 £380 million to france and so I'm guessing the cost to deter migrants must be up and over £1,000 million. Its crazy when we could have solved this for a tenth of the cost many years ago. Private company made up of ex royal marines and army stationed on the sea border could have pushed the boats back and any jumping in the water or deliberately putting themselves at risk - which would have been on the on the french side, could have been rescued and taken to the nearest port - in France.
