Week three here and you struggle to get around everything I find, so miss a few things. Lost a couple today that should have survived but to busy doing other things, turning out, bringing an odd one back in etc etc.
in your head lambing time is the hard part when actually the work only starts once they've hit the ground. 2.5-3 hours it’s been taking to do a round but last night took over 4 with all the problems. Starved pair in the last field, then you start thinking if only I had started at the other end. 😔

We all think this way but shouldn’t really it does no good. This is what I was talking about the difference between crop losses and livestock losses. Crop losses are blamed by whether livestock losses are blamed on who’s looking after them as a rule anyway

0.1C at 5am and drizzle all night FFS. We had to bring in 3 sets last night that were just put from inside to outdoor observation pens. Did I mention? 2 bought in gimmers with miniscule udders? Black tagged? Yes, them, with their miniscule lambs.
The whole lot are worth 100 quid I reckon. And will require a ridiculous amount of attention. And no doubt bottles when they get too fast to catch 🤬.
The other one is a pet and a real warrior. An old-school black blackie known as Mrs. Black, age unknown. Wool like a yak and has tup twins every year. She's done herself well having two big fat ewe lambs this year. She will be staying on in retirement and can swagger around keeping the hoggs in their place. She's back in her field this morning ruling the roost. Lambs so full they can hardly move 😂 👍.
