Just listening to Radio 2, today's guest being 'Farmer Wink' - apparently famed for his interviews on Radio Lincolnshire.

Being broadcast on mass media, this chap is an ambassador for the farming community at large.

General impressions?

I am less than impressed.

I heard it too, I think he's only there because he's "local colour" on the regional radio. Bit of a pointless exercise, the whole article was meant to be first impressions from someone who'd never been to London but he said he used to deliver potatoes there! Hardly a first impression if he could cope with driving through! Nice to hear the regional dialects but I thought maybe in this case it came across wrong, he sounded like a caricature of what City people expect a yokel to sound like.

Anyone from North of Watford speaks funny anyway so us from the South East that speak the Queens English think you're all bloody yokels anyway;).
I couldn't believe the first time I went to Newcastle about 30 years ago that they had tarmac roads and electricity after hearing how grim it was up North :).

If parcelforce won't deliver
I'll send it by carrier ferret, good training for the upcoming homing season;)

Got an invite to a day at Lords next week
Do I need my passport?
Suppose I'll have to take my penknife, used sryinge and couple of cartridges out of my overalls before they'll let me in, if it's a posh do.
If our England captain really is a farmer like the press dept. make him out to be then there's not a lot of hope , southern softies poncing about in your shiny gear whinging about "working harder"
I think I might be having words,
just hope they'll understand me;)

Jake Freestone is a well travelled, forward thinking, high tech farm manager. Wink isn't.
oh thats a great help it means nothing to us folks oop north,i have ascertained it was on radio2 so surely some one can provide a link to the broadcast then we can all judge.whats the point of starting a topic when 80% of folks on here have no clue what it is about. @llamedos
