He was just Wink being Wink. What you see is what you get. He's not 'thick'....that's just your opinion.well lets hear it then, your take on the side of the story as he came across as a thicko buffoon.
we need a devious laugh smileyAye but in your case it wouldn't be winker
well to be frank the only opinion i care about is my own,He was just Wink being Wink. What you see is what you get. He's not 'thick'....that's just your opinion.
No doubt he may be quite a character, he did not in my opinion come over very well, what I listened there were no great anecdotes told, just words of few syllables.
What was the name of the woman who used to live on a moor in Yorkshire, there was a documentary back in the 80's about here and working her farm and how it changed when she was shown the outside world. Now she came over very well as a farmer of a different era.
Just remembered......... Hannah Hauxwell anybody know what came of her?
You'll have to excuse some of the people here, they don't get out much, don't meet anyone exept their near neighbours, have a very blinkered view of the world and can get away with being rude and unhelpfull because they are anonymous. Can I just say after reading comments from your members regarding Farmer Wink's appearance on BBC Radio 2's program that I am personally disgusted at the way he has been attacked. He wasn't there to represent UK farmers. He was invited on the show as a himself/person(who happens to be a farmer) who had never been into the centre of London or experienced anything that it has to offer. He went as a passenger about twice to deliver tates to the outskirts of London many years ago. He has grafted very hard, working his own smallholding, along with a full-time position as a worker on a local farm. He's a very gentle man, living for his animals and way of life. He's raised thousands for charities and often donated personal appearance fees to these too. I don't expect everyone to like him but to call him a w****r and say he is fake and thick is a bit too far!!! He is a genuine, straight-up person who is always there to lend a hand to fellow farmers around the area. Yes- he is from a different era but so what??!! The amount of positive support he has received today has been overwhelming and the only place that has been negative is a farming forum....you must feel very proud of yourselves!!! Lets hope that your fellow farmers don't turn on you in your hour of need!!!
Yes Wiki she is still alive and well living not far from the old farm, quite a character
We have her book, somewhere. It's a good read. It's hard to believe she lived like that in the modern age!Just watched a 22 minute long clip on YouTube of her.
Looks fine to me, good luck to him. This was on our BBC local news last night. Several views already and no negative comments either. He also has 2 dvd's(released a few years ago).
