you must walk in circles with that chip on your shoulder,i initially thought of you then thought nah no one cares what you think one way or another.how does it feel to be mundane?

He managed to sound rude, ignorant, stupid and as if he was taking the mickey all at the same time. No mean feat!
Should have added 'completely humourless and guaranteed to take the bait'

I also heard the bloke (Farmer Jake) on the Simon Mayo show. Gave a good account of himself and the industry. Seemed quite media savvy and said all the right things.

Sounds like that other bloke is just a parody of what he thinks the public think farmers are like.

Can I just say after reading comments from your members regarding Farmer Wink's appearance on BBC Radio 2's program that I am personally disgusted at the way he has been attacked. He wasn't there to represent UK farmers. He was invited on the show as a himself/person(who happens to be a farmer) who had never been into the centre of London or experienced anything that it has to offer. He went as a passenger about twice to deliver tates to the outskirts of London many years ago. He has grafted very hard, working his own smallholding, along with a full-time position as a worker on a local farm. He's a very gentle man, living for his animals and way of life. He's raised thousands for charities and often donated personal appearance fees to these too. I don't expect everyone to like him but to call him a w****r and say he is fake and thick is a bit too far!!! He is a genuine, straight-up person who is always there to lend a hand to fellow farmers around the area. Yes- he is from a different era but so what??!! The amount of positive support he has received today has been overwhelming and the only place that has been negative is a farming forum....you must feel very proud of yourselves!!! Lets hope that your fellow farmers don't turn on you in your hour of need!!!

Only a few have made comments to be fair and I only heard the last few seconds so dont have a view of him, but I think many farmers get fed up of the stereotypical picture of farmers being straw chewing thick yokels when we know it is a highly skilled science these days

You don't have a view? You called him a tosser on your previous post!!! Yes I see your point about stereotypical farming profiles and yes people learn how to farm differently now to times gone by but the generations past have earnt the right to be called a farmer just as much as the present ones.
