Not concreting the floor (yet), so have decided to have one downpipe (either side) at front corner of the shed. Any problems and we can have a rethink without too much hassle.

We’ve a 75x50. Shed guttered to one end and never had an issue in 5 years since it was planted. 60x80 ain’t a lot more is it!

Ours is nowt fancy in the guttering dept, get some guttering 30% bigger and be covered easy….
Evening Stillman. So is yours just 6" half round plastic?

We've a 75' span shed, which is 45' long. The cattle yard closest to the house. Half round 6" plastic gutters. It's fine most of the time, but water does overtop the gutters in a thunderstorm.

Yes I think that’s what ours is. Will have a proper look an let u know. where our shed is located if gutters over top occasionally it wouldn’t matter anyway

Putting up a 60' wide × 80' long shed. Using the deep profile plastic guttering.

Will I get away with the downpipes at one end of the 80' run, or do I need to position them half way along the shed so gutters only taking 40' each way of rain water?

I'd prefer the downpipes at the end, but would be pleased of any experience/ advice. Thanks

I think your biggest problem will be one for pipe trying to cope with all that water. Might have to put two next to each other

Existing 80×60 shed here, has one downpipe per side. Never been a problem, but they're positioned half way along the shed. 160mm downpipes, 200mm stormflow plastic gutters.

why ask then? 😂

in a heavy rain I’d just be concerned about down pipe keeping up but if you’ve one already then it’s no problem
Because the one we already have had the downpipe in middle of gutter run (so only 40' of gutter run either side of the downpipe).

For new shed, ideally, I want a single downpipe at one end of the shed (for each side of the roof).

So it's not the downpipe capacity, but the ability of gutter to take 80' of water without overtopping before it reaches the downpipe. That's what I'm trying to determine 👍

I think you’ll be ok for normal use. It will overrun in freak thunderstorms

I think part of the trouble in heavy downpours is that there is so much water coming off the roof that when it falls in the gutter is disturbs/slows the flow of any water travelling along the gutter so it loses momentum.

A slightly steeper gutter helps.

I have had a look around today and I spied one shed with an 80 x 35 side (half main span and a 20 foot lean to but at a shallower angle) with a 6 inch gutter and 4 inch down pipe at one end.

I don't recall that ever over topping but the shed is on a slope and so is the gutter.
