Just had an afternoon of collecting CPD points. Phew
Potash Development website has a 20 minute webinar to watch, EiO has a decent 4 point course for £22 ( I think) and the TFF points of course
Added to the agronomy and spray test ones already accrued I think I’ve got my 10 points.
TFF points were added to the BASIS NRoSo website within minutes of me applying. That’s good service !✔️

There’s 3 of us here with the sprayer qualifications. The employee likes to do the 10 point in person course with lunch and a chat to others, son likes going to the shows and fairs and farmer meetings picking up points throughout the year. I like the online courses and subscriptions and we all get a couple from the agronomist and sprayer test.

Certainly doesn't sound good for rolling over points, the old lot let you roll 10 if I remember correctly , these are implying 5 for now but not in future , so you will need to be on the ball every year rather than having a few in the 'bank' just in case you get a bit close to the deadline like I used to do. I do agree the old page with the points accrued/guide at the bottom was easier to follow.

When I spoke to them at one of the summer shows they said basis full members will get nroso as well which would be nice. Save doing two knowledge trails at cereals

Welcome to the Winter issue of the NRoSO Newsletter.

We’re 11 months into running NRoSO now, and we have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from members about the service being received.
Overwhelmed or underwhelmed? 🤔🤦‍♂️

Though to be fair, they have been A LOT better this last month or so...(but not from a particular high base point to start)

I certainly don't agree with the reduction to 1yr only from 3 and cut down of points carry over, plus increase in subs.

All part of an integrated takeover with RT et all methinks.

Well, yesterday's session at the Banbury Hutchinson depot was said to be a completely different format.
Okay it was a bit different in that we weren't expected to form into small groups to answer innane questions in the workbook, as has happened previously, which was better. There was still the slide presentation, and the course leaders invited open discussion as it went along, helped by being a fairly small group, in a smaller space than previous corporate venues.
It was informative, but the more interesting stuff tends to come out of the incidental discussions and exchanges of views.
It is still a decent chance to catch up with old faces, a bit of lighthearted crack on a filthy day, and a fairly painless way to satisfy our Nroso points requirements.
Frankly I doubt the price increase for the course was justified, but it is where we are, and as an industry, it appears from we get off fairly lightly in our CPD requirements anyway.
It was news to me, and I expect to others, that it appears it will be compulsory to have closed transfer chemical induction systems on, or at the filling point of sprayers, within about 5 yrs timescale.

Expensive way to get points unless you employ someone. It's a cynical way to trap the employees who can't pop to an all day meeting on the firm for 2 or 3 points and might not want to go to an evening meeting.

It's designed to get them most of their points in one go. They probably won't learn anything but the main thing is that a fee is payable.

I think we are stuck with it, because despite the commonly held view on here that RT/FA/Nroso/Nsts should be abolished, and despite many wishing it so, it will never happen.
