Dire trade at longtown today 41kg texel out of texel £70 yet mules only couple of quid cheaper. What is the point of trying to breed quality

Shows the demand for mules down there then.

40kg mules i seen sold on tues were £59.50 and 41kg texels were £68-£70

awful at leyburn today... most hovered around £58 - £62:scratchhead: best beltie lambs ive seen were only £70 @ 42.5kgs and that would be the top of the market. Only 3 buyers, normally 5 or 6 and even 7 or 8 in the spring... job is bad... i haven't been for a few weeks but apparently the same lambs making £64 last week (which they thought was bad) made £60 this!
Is there alot more being sold deadweight? Last week only 550 lambs here when other years your looking over a thousand, same today? They were still cheap.
