I use a TENS machine on myself all day to releave back pain. 2 electrode pads above and below the area to confuse the pain signal..

I don't think that the Pacifier is that different.

Well having used a pacifier myself I think they are marvelous, great for heifers or a cow that has a cut tit
I know they vibrate but it's not like a electric shock that's used on the bulls, bit like a vibrating dido to put it bluntly I can't see the harm myself
Things that do hurt cows that people use include
Freeze branding
Dehorning, especially some tight farmers that do it without pain killers
Kick bars (hate those)
A bucket for scooping up down Cows instead of using hip lifters
Alkathene pipe some farmers use to drive cattle (or beat)

Just saying I can see why pacifiers are illegal here but also there are other things that hurt cows

The biggest issue is they are used to prevent animals reacting to painful stimuli.

I don't believe a kick bar ia painful. I think moving a cow in a bucket is kinder than the Bagshaw hoist.

I see no issue with a cattle prod when used in the correct manor. To me the correct manor is when you have an animal nearly up a ramp or into a crush and it's getting annoyed then you give a small buzz which makes them move. IMO that's better than beating hell out of them with a stick.

I have had to use 1 once in my life time when my job was to watch someone straw down incase a freshly calved jersey attempted to kill him fortunately she stayed well clear and all was well but it was there if needs be
