I always thought grass is better on top not buried? Everyday is a learning day.
This only applies to Dd ?
Burying after a full Plough til sow would be wrong?
Seed will only grow on top in constant damp weather. Stubble turnips will grow on concrete.
Time like this they need soil on them 1st picture broadcast seed . Soil is like dust for an inch

2CD picture not as easy to see but soil is damp under the surface . Hardly any dry soil ,

On ploughing ground a light dust of soil will get it going , in dry weather the seed need to be down a half inch to get enough moisture , the guttler can’t do it .

Did you buy one

Am I right I thinking these are the best for grass work
I reckon as good as any on the market at the moment, unidrill has some advantages but it’s lack of ground following and bloody non greasable bearings ( been there done that ) is a problem for me.

What advantages has the unidrill over the erth
Non really, its got a different coulter which works slightly differently to the vaddy coulter Erth uses but the disc bearings are non greasable ( I have had fun with them in the past), slightly heavier build, and they use a guttler roller on the back which follows the ground better than a flat roller but in wet conditions they end up a huge ball of shite. If you spec them the same there is not a huge difference in cost tbh but recently Moore have sold out to Agrilinc so where they are manufactured etc is a bit unknown . Any small issues we have had with the Erth have been promptly sorted by @Tractor bob but we found support from Moore nothing special, lucky we didn’t have many issues with them.

Morning, the Moores drills production has moved from Ireland and they are now assembled at our premises in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Hopefully your comment ref support for your Moores drill isn't since we've taken over but if it is and you still have an outstanding issue please PM me.

Reminds me a-bit of the argument about broadcasting seed . A wagtail is just as good as anything modern but then so is a seed fiddle and even a 3 gallon bucket in your hand
Its 90 % about ground preparation and whos using the bucket than the type of bucket

No it was before your time and was stated because I waited over 3 weeks for a small but crucial part for my drill ( 3 weeks was an unacceptable length of time we felt), but it ended a 25 year relationship with Moore. We did ask you guys for a quote when looking to change our drill but you didn’t respond.
