Congratulations. I have just logged into this thread and thumbed through it all with great interest. Well done, it looks very impressive. We have one exactly the same less than a mile from here and it looks fantastic. I am sure you will be pleased with it and I hope the wind blows you loads a money !!! I will keep my eye out for further posts. Brilliant.
Thanks for that, hoping it does well, won't start turning for another 3 wks but glad we have got this far.

3 weeks til turning? Crikey! Good going. It took Enercon and local network 4 months to get ours commissioned!! But I'm over it now ;)

Yes,not a great start though, ran for about 4 hrs yesterday after the g59 then shut down with a fault, not very windy but put up 600kwh's,not signed over to us yet so won't be going again until monday then EWT do 3 days of testing and adjustments, worse thing is we now have the turbine data on the computer showing real time windspeed(averaging around 7.5m/s at the moment) and its not turning, apparently quite common to have teething problems in the first few weeks though.

Great news. The one just up the road from me had teething problems for about 3or 4 weeks and on the very odd ocassion has not turned when it should, but I would say that they have had a very good year to date with it. I hope it all goes well, I'm sure it will.

Great to see it up,Hamish, we both had some disappointments along the way but its good to get to this stage.
We are approaching our 10month production anniversary, on-course for 20 month project payback.

Had a few small problems but seems to be settling down now, done just over 100,000kw's since 1st May,will be happy enough if it keeps that up.Had a couple 10,000kw(y) days but also some at 1000kw(n),early days though, will be interesting over the year.

Could you tell me what size crane is needed for a 500kw turbine, got a developer interested in putting a 500kw up,access for a very large crane would be difficult, they want a 70m high tower what would the road weight of the crane be.
Thanks

500t crane for that size i would think, not sure what the actual weight of the crane would be though, probably 75-100t unballasted.

Going better than expected for the time of year, generating between 35-40% of capacity since it went up,june -aug were always going to be quieter months, quite happy if it continues as it is.
