Someone was telling me that DPF can be removed/deleted after the warranty has expired? Anyone know anything about this?
It is illegal and it will not pass the MOT. Not on a physical/visual inspection if obvious and certainly not on the machine soot emission test.
Report back on how you get on with the MOT if you do remove or drill through it. The difference between a vehicle with DPF and without is very obvious just by wiping a finger inside the exhaust outlet or even by just looking at it.

Biggest problem will be getting it through MOT. It will probably pass emission test, but if the tester thinks you may have removed factory fitted emissions gear, then you're on thin ice. Might be OK, might not. I've got a car that's running one set of cats only, that gets a few questions/quizzical looks come MOT time. Luckily they don't see very many so I play dumb (it comes natural) and it's been passed.

Thanks both. As I said I'm not aware it's an issue on ours. I never look at the regen screen on the dash and if the vehicle keeps going then I'm not particularly bothered if I'm honest. I think ours does enough miles and towing so it's not so much of an issue as with someone who potters about with low miles and short journeys maybe?

You are right on all counts. Best not to know and your use pattern is probably good and healthy for it, unless you consider that towing produces more soot than just unladen long distance work. Don't worry about it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Seems to be a few threads on Isuzu 3.0l engine with rising oil level/injector problems. So may have missed this info somewhere
Can anyone tell me what the model number of engine that gave bother was?

I think you will find it is early 2.5l models. I have a 14 plate one that caused problems until they changed the filter set up. I also suspect supermarket fuel.

I think the engine you are thinking of here is the 3litre 4jx1 engine fitted to the Isuzu trooper with the CAT injection system. This engine is now discontinued and has not been used since the last of the troopers in around 2005

That makes sense, have had injector failure and rising oil levels in a machine fitted with 4jj1x engine had been wondering was it same unit as dmax owners where having issues with but it’s different.
Thanks
