Massey ferguson 5610

Looks like quite a high spec big loader for the tractor. Forward reach looks impressive. At a guess and as a consequence, it will need a good counterweight on the links when not towing a trailer. It has solid welded wheels so no issues with cracking or anything with those, front or back.
High visibility roof as well.
Ours had a 946 loader and that was big enough to lift the rear with bigger bales. I kinda miss the 5610.

Bit the bullet and bought 1. 64 plate with only 640 hours!View attachment 890420
If it does as well as ours did you'll be more than happy.

There's always one!

I did tell him earlier in thread to speak to this chap! He is a mutual friend. He's been running one for a while with a large loader and isn't impressed with it.

Noticed you were quite quick to point out the loader size too!

946 was big enough, 956 is a bit overkill and probably a bit heavier. Reach is great but stability isn't. Teaches patience though. ?

How are you getting along with the new massey? Thinking of getting one the same or a 5455. Will have to be used though. What do you think of joystick transmission controls? Gimmick or Useful tech?
You mean the frontloader joystick with transmission controls? I didn't even use anything else with our 5610. Brother liked to use the direction change button on it, so never needed the lh shuttle (i didn't get used to use that for changing directions).

So far so good. Done about 8-900 hours with it and has handled everything we needed it to. Little engine really hangs on well. The loader joystick is really good, always use the gear buttons theyre really handy.
Only thing we don't like is the foot throttle its way too sensitive. Combined with the cab suspension you have no control in some situations. We use the hand throttle a lot.
We also got the linkage buttons swapped to the old rocker switch.

Interesting to hear. I'm looking for a second hand one with a loader, but very few on the market. Just to complicate matters, I also need a euro combi headstock.😳 Thanks for your reply, I'll keep looking.

Exactly same issue I am having, Hand throttle needs a stopper to set it so its easy to reset to a speed. Where did u get the rocker switch from? Button switch pain in the arse, u never sure its on
