Space is certainly at a premium. I only live in a cottage so no nice farm workshop unfortunetly. It would of been a metre longer but Peak Park wanted it so many metres from the road so it had to be shortened.

As you can see in the bottom left of the picture, theres a few hurdles to be tig welded up aswell.

If I was to be picky, best to stick with regular hurdle size (in your area) less excuse for the punters to grumble, regardless of original supplied length. Can you get a cheaper supplier, leave a bit more in it for all your hard work?
Tidy bit of work, don't think its your first try at a project ................

Some nice features in that CAD drawing

Apologies Mursal, I missed your post.
As I have been refering to neighbours Prattley and Rappa systems (and a Glendale Engineering Portarace, which is a nice bit of kit) the CAD drawings have gone out the window somewhat.

As to the ally supplies i use this firm http://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/
I have yet to find anyone cheaper yet.

Don't knock it, my workshop is probably three times the size but I've got a job to swing a stick welder round in there at the moment!

@Tomo23 whats the software you were using in the first pic you posted, how much was it and how easy is it to use, got a few ideas rolling around in my head, but would like to be able to 'build' them in 3D as my doodles seem to look bugger all like what's in my head

I've been inspired by this Tomo and have plans of my own.....

But mine aren't on a computer!!, just on a bit of paper. However, I bought and old but sound Hayflake drop flat low loader trailer a few years ago. It wasn't really strong enough for what I wanted it for so it's just hung about the yard the way.

Last week I bought an IAE handling system from a neighbour who hasn't kept sheep for years. It's quite big with the half moon crowd pen, double race, all adjustable race widths, anti back up gate, drafting gate the lot. The races are 22 ft long. I didn't pay a great deal for what's there. Yesterday I went to unbolt it all from the concrete it was standing on and had a brain flash....mount it all on the Hayflake.

I'll let you know how I get on . Expected completion to be sometime when my lad has got fed up with tripping over it all in the yard and built it all himself when I'm an old man!!

Its an oldish version of SolidWorks. Once you get used to the basics its a fairly easy program to use, plus a bit of help off here as there are a few members who use it. Price wise i paid nothing as an old work collegue got me a copy. However I did price it up once for an up to date version and was quoted an eye watering £5000.

If your in the business of manufacturing i'm sure it would be worth it because of its capability.

Sorry @Bob c not done anything for a bit due to lambing which ive just about finished and purchasing a Unimog which ive been playing with.
Just a few vent holes to drill ready for galvanising and hurdle joining bits on front and rear. Had a mad welding rush before lambing and got the hurdles welded up so thats 16 of those in total. They just need there joiners making so its getting there.

The rear ramp was adapted from the front bale rave off the trailer.

The drawbar is detachable and in its place I've made a false floor from expanded metal mesh to give the sheep easy exit from the draft gate.
When the drawbar is attached the draft gate folds in towards the centre so you can turn right easily.

It's a bit of overkill for our 50 odd sheep, but the trailer was bought a few years ago for another job. It turned out to be no good for that and despite trying to sell it, no one wants it so is scrap really.

Hopefully it's a set up that will last all my life. The whole lot could be quite easily taken off and bolted onto concrete again if we want to. I've only used about 2/3 of what we bought so we've also got some handy little gates and sheeted sections.

@Cab-over Pete how have you attached it to the bed of the trailer is it able to come of and be used as a static unit still and use the trailer or is it all fixed to the floor as that looks smart only thing i was thinking about was making it so part of the race comes out so you can carry the bike?
