Anyone managed to grab bits? I grabbed some real light bits but any clay and it’s a wet shitty mess. Not sure when to throw the towel in and go for sfi

Got a little bit of spring wheat to plant to grow on and the area is still got water on it. Upto the end of april will be fine.

Not done any here yet but not panicking as get a bit of sun and wind in April and it will dry.

Had a good go last week and I'm hoping the heavy stuff will go next week.

This week I've been rolling in last week's drilling as well as also getting a good chunk of the winter corns rolled too.

A couple of days drilling corn and would like to be onto the beet by the end of the week 🤞

Did 20 ha of spring beans last night on our lightest land. Could have done with a bit more drying but it was having it come what may. Will probably run the harrows over it, if it hazes off tomorrow. The rest will be mid-April if it ever stops raining.

Looked at some land destined for spring barley today, the best of it has a dry inch on on top, puddle underneath the worst still has standing water, one field that’s not ploughed tried to put some muck on Thursday and very quickly gave up on that idea

Yesterday, I walked on a field on my boots and got more than ten metres in without "moon boots". Was it worth it? Nah, just saw that every dip of slumped soil had water sat in it. Sad face. The intensity of October rain has knackered it, although good quantity of worm casts.

Few drills going today on the cliff. But the clay looks ages away.

We've had bits of rain for most of last week. It's just snot below 1" deep. Drier than it has been for a while.

Ploughing game covers over on lighter land brings up nearly as much moisture as there was on top.

Next week's forecast is crap, so at least it looks like we won't be busy over the Easter weekend. Hey ho.
