The war in Ukraine...

Not sure if there was a British unit openly being neo nazi that would be seen as ok...
Whose to say it was Ok in Ukraine. The Azov battalion was initially a private militia financed by a Jewish Billionaire that was then incorporated into the national defence force fighting in the Donbas war.

i don’t know if any of that is true, I was actually going to write can’t/won’t; but this is the Ukraine thread so not relevant really - so on top of the potential can’t , she won’t due to her best friend (Slovak) experience living in England since 2016, married to a Welshman with 2 English born kids☹️.

i really don’t want to discuss it here, it was only to point out to Gavin that my fears of MLP are quite genuine (and regularly pointed out by local French)
Fair enough...

The “destruction” of Ukraine, if that’s what it is, could have been avoided with a stronger response to Russian aggression. Unfortunately western greed got in the way. Boris “not all Russian money is bad money” Johnson and his party share some of the responsibility for that. The Russian campaign continues to be financed by sales of commodities to our trading partners. It seems the price of freedom is cheap Chinese and Indian labour.

The whole thing really does call into question the competence of Western politicians.
Having decided to egg Ukraine on, to then drip feed supplies of weapons is inexcusable in my view.
We should either have stayed right out of it or gone full throttle all the way. The constant delay, hesitancy and indecision will lose the war.

The politicians have simply done what their electorate wanted them too.
The majority did not wish to abandon the Ukrainians to the russian agression, nor they wish to take on the russians more fully with obvious greater risk.
This policy has enabled flag(ukrainian) waving in british streets and armchair generalship in abundance.

Good points.

Should go full throttle all the way now & should have done on day 2.
