Trying to get around the automated response system when trying to access Barclaycard . I spent 30 mins this a.m. being "automatedly" requested to enter or speak the card number . and "automatedly" being told "I'm sorry I didn't catch that , please try again" despite typing on the keyboard , and speaking the numbers . I never thought that I'd ever be glad to hear an Indian voice asking me - eventually - for my details . I only wanted to tell them that we'd be abroad next week in case they thought a cash request from distant parts was bogus , and stopped the card . This bliddy automated system of call fielding , "if you want this , press that" really pees me off , and all in the interests of efficiency too !.

'I am content to have a place called home, but my heart goes out to those that aren't that fortunate especially in this weather.'

...stopped just short of giving those without a home any food, money or shelter, though, didn't you? I hate it when people seek glory or applause for doing nothing more that typing out something gushy.

Average broadband speed for the last few weeks - less than half a mg. I have changed the router, the filter, the wires, my socks, but no increase in speed. Means I cannot open all the funny pictures here....

Had an engineer from Openreach round the other week, he was amazed that we could get 5Mb broadband in our valley (yes,only 'cause I'd spent an hour on the phone the previous day to Kanti in Mumbai,) the next week it was back to 0.5Mb.
