Where's My Cross Slot

Having seen others CSs I'm amazed that has enough down pressure?
I'm fairly sure it should be ok, the toolbar is heavier than it looks, there's also steel blocks to bolt onto the wings and centre section. The toolbar weighs in at about 17tonnes which should give over 300kg/opener.
I'm also looking at mounting hoppers on the frame too.

So 300 into 17 tonne gives 56 odd openers.... That really is in the big time. Nevertheless in an arable system with mellow ground not being firmed down by cattle all winter those numbers are not unreasonable. Downforce should be fine as long as you don't have really hard patches. Also power requirement probably won't be as bad as many may expect either. In Australia a few years ago I pulled 56 openers with a 95 E cat in self mulching grey soil..... It handled it fine at 10-11 kph drilling deep. There are 3-4 m minimum till machines that need as much power.

Power will most likely not the restricting factor up north.
Now we have to get our acts together to get the title "widest CS in EU" back to the main land.
Well done Knockie, we are taking the challenge.

So @Knockie what's the plan for it. Ever consider trailed seed cart?
My thoughts just now are to mount the seed and solid fert hoppers on the toolbar, keeping the seed distribution heads near the hoppers as I'm looking into fitting auto section where I can "dump" the seed/fert back to the hoppers.
I'm thinking about a tow behind liquid fertiliser cart though ;) Which can be coupled when required.

Thanks York..... The challenge is now set for your mainland Europe friends;)
Yes it will be interesting to see how much power it need up here, although dry hard soil is not usually a problem in this part of the world.
Merry Christmas to you and your family:)

Yes, I've been tracking it too, had a panic moment a few days ago as it seemed to disappear altogether.....reappeared yesterday just south of Perth:)
I think it's heading to Singapore after that then non stop to Antwerp.

Hi

It takes a while as it is all uphill from down here ☺
Just needs a bit of a change in perspective...
