Who has sprayed for flea beetle?

All sprayed today. Drill back on tomorrow as 20% has been cleared. This years crop around the grainstore, and I reckon the millions that came in with this years harvest have migrated to the nearest field. Anything emerging since Monday has been stripped to the stalk. Best seedbeds ever, and first re-drilling ever!

My stubble turnips have been in the ground for three weeks now and despite a couple of sprays of Cypermethrin, they are still being holed and in some cases grazed right off. There just hasn't been enough rain to let them grow away from the beetles.

In terms of gaining maximum efficiency from Cypermethrin is it best to spray during night or day? Do these beetles com out at night? Also, if the plant is sprayed with Cyper does that render it toxic to the beetle or is the fumes of the cyper that kills the beetle of spray landing on the beetle?

Does Hallmark have a more systemic action? Just wondering how we can more effect.
All pyrethroids are contact only with regard to killing insects, although this doesn't mean they have to hit them direct as they can be picked up off the plant. The better ones, however, supposedly have anti feeding properties and also hang around on the plant/stubble etc longer ready to be picked up when touched by the beetle. The more expensive ones also take longer to break down in daylight/ warmth.

Sprayed last night for the 2nd time as there are more on the surface at night. Just looked again in the dark and it's still heaving with the little buggers.

Sprayed mine 7 days from drilling and then again after 14 days with the weedkiller and seems ok at mo. My agronomist says he is really starting to see some damage around now!

Been doing mine yesterday and today in-between other jobs. Damage patchy, but can't afford to lose any more. Some slug damage as well. considering redrilling one field, but might see what it looks like in a week.

Using alpha cypermethrin here has quick knockdown and residual effect apparently!! Sprayed Tuesday still no end around not many plants without Shotholes, maybe worth holding onto this year's osr as could be very little around next year.

Been looking everyday. Tuesday afternoon found the very odd plant shot holed. The following morning (yesterday) loads of damage. Got all sprayed yesterday so hopefully stop the little buggers. Certainly need watching as surprised how quick they can do damage.

Just had a good look around everything that is emerged. The odd plant has a shot hole in but that's about it so I'm not spraying yet. I have the second split of the pre em to do at full cotyledons so I will wait until then so I can add it in, along with a sniff of contact graminicide to take out barley volunteers.

Think this beetle could be the death of osr on heavy land

Dry year spray rape every week with insecticide
Wet year apply slug pellets every week???!!!

Is there anything out there that doesn't eat rape?
