just been looking at your photos, thankyou for a great insight into your farming. looks to be great soil, how deep is it?
Thanks for your interest. There is a lot of variation but in general the topsoil (A horizon) is from 6 inches to several feet. This would be tops of hills to bottom ground.

I am in the Clarion-Nicollet-Webster association. This is the DesMoines lobe of the Wisconsin glaciation. Our soils are around 10,000 years old. Part of the prairie pothole region.

People can be pigs.

“We have met the enemy and he is us.” (Reference?)

Every spring the grandkids and I pick up trash around the lake next to us. Found this on a popular duck hunting spot:

I shoot in a local trap shooting league, I like to shoot some older shotguns. I finally got around to getting a trap style stock on one of my old favorites, it now shoots pretty much to the same point as my regular trap guns.

Does anyone know the make and model ?

Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home, was interesting. The exterior looks like sandstone block but you could tell from places that had been damaged that it was really southern white pine but they put a sandstone plaster over it.

His original burial crypt was very unassuming, folks later thought he needed something a little grander.

We toured the White House but I didn’t seem to take any photos. They’ve done a really good job rebuilding it after some ruffians damaged it in the past.

I guess there one photo with the whole crew. Extra points of anyone can locate me. Some of you should be able to spot my wife. That didn't come out right.

I'll guess, baseball cap and trainers on. With a wax jacket, too. Don't know your wife!
