Local College is the way to go. I did find that stainless was the best to learn on as it's not got rust to bother you. Good TIG inverters are expensive but worth it, our Kemppi was over 1K.
You'll get loads of friends when they find that you can weld stainless.
I went to a farm years ago with the fencer earthed to a Stanchion and the electronic Pulsation box nearby was flashing in time with the fencer even when the Pulsator was unplugged from the mains. Probably earthing through the parlour.
If you have a plate cooler or ice-bank, run a small amount of cold milk back into the top of the receiver jar, 6mm tube is usually more than big enough. The cold milk kills the froth.

I think at any age a good night school course is value for money, you will learn a lot, use their consumables and machines.

If you are on Office 365 you can download a Microsoft "Support and Recovery Assistant" It has just sorted an Outlook problem for me this weekend, but I don't know what it can do for emails.
You may be able to arrange to get a micro-bacteriology test done on your milk when the bulk sample is say above 500; I know that some farmers can get this done. You have to arrange it first, I think with who ever tests the bulk sample.
I should help identify the cause.
I use an hydraulic (foot pumped) stacker truck to weld on, I can T.I.G. weld sitting down and position the height to suit what I'm welding. Can't hammer on it much though. Must be some inventive genius on here who can design a height adjustable welding bench.
We have a Makita, bought it 2nd hand and then found it had a crack in the gearbox. We replaced gear box castings and fitted new bearings at the same time, all easily available, and still cheaper than new.
If it packed up would definitely get another one.
