i was just thinking your clusters look odd, how old is that parlour? de laval here was new around 2000 i think, harmoany clusters, i hate them but they are very good for the cows, very good milk flow from them
the hole in the ground was dug in the mid seventies and an alfa 20/10 with jars was put in ,complete with in parlour feeding,
it stayed like that till two years ago when we converted it to a 24/24 direct line with parts from two second hand delaval parlours , the 24 harmony clusters that came with one of them are still in the garage, it was going to cost as much to use the harmonys again (plastic shells cracked , wine glasses missing etc etc) as it was to buy decent claws that NEVER break
my limited experience with harmony claws will never be forgotten , and am glad we didnt even try to milk jerseys with them

Probably be just as quick with a 12 24. ?the hole in the ground was dug in the mid seventies and an alfa 20/10 with jars was put in ,complete with in parlour feeding,

so that would have had jars down the middle ? they were very popular around where i grew up
Our parlour started as a 5/10 with jars up the middle in 1971
somewhere mid 70s it got doubled up(still jars above) then in 1989 we extended it (14/14)and tried jars up middle not enough room so dug the sides out and went lowline with jars,ok but pulsators were always going off due to being in the damp.
Then 2002 i dug into the old dairy and made it into a 12/24 with acrs did a couple af years then got milk meters 2007 I doubled up,now were going to swing over again, but more units.
Have altered stallwork widths and heights along the way, dont have any original concrete in any of it.
Probably be just as quick with a 12 24. ?
so what height were the origanil jars? all them around our way they were right in the middle, our fullwood at home must have been years ahead then, jars up high , im 6tf2 n they are plenty high for me to not hit my head
20 40 here n autum calvers n 2 milking untill summer, then when i milk alone i cant get more than 16 on at a time , so bigger not always quicker
