One thing that occured to me today , how many marts pay by cheque ? the post could be suspended at some point , sedge does as does frome , maybe its time they started paying by BACS ,in fact i wonder why they all dont ?,must be a saving on postage and paperwork , sedge always sends a mail of prices , i really dont mind the week delay in payments , as they need buyers cheques to clear first , would save me a trip to bank as well .

Cull ewe average at Market Drayton today, £148 for 515 ewes. Was seriously busy this morning.
Also heard that a local indian takeaway has closed because the price of meat is too dear.

They have been talking to the government every day this week and all last weekend so that is not anything new.
Guidance has been issued about attending the livestock markets so as long as people adhere to the rules put in place there is no reason at all not to allow the livestock markets to carry on.
I have just been to my large Morrisons store tonight, there is literally nothing left of anything, be that meat/ food/ veg/ booze/ toiletries/meds etc etc, last night at this time they had about 40% stock levels, tonight possible 10/15% at best, manager has told the staff that if current demand keeps on at the last couple of days level and they only get the same amount of delivery's each night as the last few days he expects to close the store either late on Friday or at some point on Saturday as they wont have anything left to sell other than what comes in overnight and that will be gone within 1 hour of opening.
The government has got a very big problem on their hands ref what they are going to do about food supply's come next week.

Some of the big killing plants still pay by cheque as well so that needs to be addressed pronto given the current situation.
Exeter market also still pays by Cheque.
