Unfortunately ,Anton, anything is only worth what someone will pay for it,where ever one lives on this planet.
Some farmers are worth a lot of money on paper, but in reality cash poor,so do not hold your hopes to high.
yes but where you are farmers make much more than their paper value

You are most fortunate not to suffer from typoons.
Manual planting as you will know needs lots of pairs of hands, 2 crops are possible most years 3 crops you wish for, and as you say hoppers and birds can devastate a crop before your eyes.
I wish you luck with the sale and with your ambition on farming 10,000 hectares, if only the Philippine government was so forward looking.
Agreed. 2 crops is possible but extra hardwork to coordinate all resources from a few hundreds planter up to spraying and fertilizing. I trust philipine govt is also concern with self sufficiency in basic food supply.

Anton, sorry you are not having much luck selling the farm, but please keep posting it is really interesting. We are stuck with a climate that supports strong growth for about 4 months a year - more or less depending on where you are. We suffer from too cold, too wet, too dry and occasionally too hot [but always with lack of water] the idea of cropping a grass to full seed three times a year is just so outside our experience.
I was not aiming for instance sale. I can finance the growth of my farm slowly from my harvest and it will last forever. It is also further proof for potential farmer/investor/coporate farmer to see that this deal is genuine.
At least, my posting and our discussion on this forum improve all of our knowledge horizon on farming practices and law in countries around the world.

it is a pity that each time we get a person with something different the few forum know alls make them feel like they are from the moon
It is ok snowhite, i am used to it. I started my rice farm a few years ago even my own government officials didn't believe it. My agri equipment from tractors to combine harvester were stranded in one indonesian port for 13 months before the president of indonesia intervened and released my equipments....My elder brother wrote to the president, mentioning our plight in farming, within 3 days we have a very positive response. No one believes us at that time, from custom officials, ministry of trade and industry and even ministry of agriculture are surprised.
Some govt official even said we are crazy to do the impossible...when farming in our country is so backward ranging from water buffalo to hand tractor. Four wheel tractors only amounted to about 1000 units to cover 9 million hectares of arable land is mission impossible. We, all brothers believe there is something good we can do in rice farming for our nation and for the world.

Thank you for your reminder.
I started with nothing, now everyday, local farmer and non farmer come to watch us farming. It is entertainment for them. Some family even bring picnic table and barbeque when we transplanting padi with machines. They watch with fascination. Now officials bring their guests from far away to our field and claimed, this is the future farming in indonesia.:)

My connection is with the Philippines where rice production is mainly done by hand, and in a good year 3 crops are possible in theory but rarely so in practise, usually one crop will get laid flat by whatever typhoon is passing at the time.
got some connections there my self unfortunately

Not that they helped me from the start but more to the challenge i have faced in developing modern farmland....cynicism on website could not hurt me much, i have been under worst situation....
In short, i got something to sell, potential buyers reserve all the right to be prudent and carefull...they can probe any questions that come to mind and i will try my best to answer them. If i run out of answer, i might tell you, i don' t know...fair?

Most UK farmers will be struggling with the concept of more than one harvest per year.
How on earth would they squeeze in shooting and skiing?
(Tin hat on)
Hahahaha, you are completely right!
Farmers' life in my country is work all year round. Think of it again, life is miserable even for me...that is why i enjoy talking in this forum so much...open my mind...
