I asked the price of the new tractor and also the price of my 6630.
Did the same with the John Deere salesman. Both gave very similar values for the trade in tractor which was a good sign.
I certainly didn’t look at the “cost to change” figure seriously even though I quoted it earlier in terms...
30-35sounds low to me.
this hasn’t 10k hours but its price is a long way from 35k....

Ah cool.
to be fair, the Fendt guy said that the touch screen was too difficult to use in a moving machine and that’s where the dial & buttons are handy.
Without giving figures of the deal, our cost of changing from the Deere 6630 to the Fendt 516 is £10/hr.
Obviously the Fendt is an increase in horsepower and it’s CVT with a 2000hr warranty.
How does this sound?
went for a 3yr/2000 hour warranty here at no extra cost other than dealer must do services (which is extra cost to be fair).
I can understand that a manufacturer insists on dealer recorded service record for warranty purposes, they can’t trust that farmer Jim did what he said he did.
That’s the thing.
There wasn’t a Deere equivalent. Same hp was 6cyl, heavier and dearer.
Biggest 4 cyl was less hp and virtually no cheaper.
Fendt had a nice power:weight ratio and no boost. Just full power all the time.
No point creating a thread, asking questions and receiving advice without giving an end result.
Ended up ordering a 516 Fendt. With Fendt loader. PowerPlus spec. Autosteer included.
First Fendt here do it’ll be interesting to see how it goes.
Planning to buy a set of new row crop wheels for a 150-160hp tractor.

Also, any preferred tyre brand? Have...
I generally try to avoid parking next to people carriers in car parks....
A friend of mine still recalls parking his brand spanking new Seat Toledo (his first new car) in a super market car park.
As soon as he saw a heavy young lad storming through the shop doors at high speed and across the...
