    Moocall

Just another tool that if used properly can make life easier. Yes, get false alarms sometimes, but they are generally very reliable and can save a calf. We only use them for commercial tail enders ( no pun intended!) and the pedigrees. Renewal fee this year was 121 euros.

    Electricity tariffs/Prices

I have been quoted 38p per unit for a 1 year fix, but £3.77 per DAY standing charge. It's an import meter on a hydro scheme - we only import about 50 units per year - so its a helluva money for very little use. Does anyone know if we can not have an import supply and only use the export part of...

    Recent ppa?

With import prices being quoted at 50p plus, then in actual fact PPA should be higher! When import was circa 15p, PPA was around 8-9p, so a 7p 'margin' - why does their 'margin' need to be 15-20p now?

    Filling IBC Tanks

We have a garden hose timer that switches off after a set time - once you know how long it takes to fill an ibc it is pretty accurate. Costs about £20, batteries last 18 months, and they are readily available in any garden centre or online.

    Pressure washer extension

Correct....the pressure drop in the pipe will be tiny compared to the pressure at the pump. Pressure drop is a function of velocity in the pipe....if you use a larger diameter pipe the friction losses are smaller and the pressure drop is smaller. Its not easy to calculate accurately unless you...
