    Are Bale Unrollers any good

Bought a S/H Wessex. No problem with chain coming off but found the guides for chain well warn, will need some new plate welding on. Not an old machine so assume will need regular fettling.

    Weighing a bulk bag

If you have a known weight, say 500Kg new bag cake. Hang known weight on one end of beam and your unknown weight on other, put sling in middle and pick it up, adjusting position till it balances. Calc unknown based on distances from the balanced lift point. Need to make an allowance for weight...

    Weighing a bulk bag

Last year I needed to re-calibrate cattle crush weigh bars. Took a set of old tractor weights down to local scrap yard and asked them to weigh them. It was no problem, but maybe because I take scrap there.

    Massey Ferguson 4709

I have 4708. I think 10HP less would still do my job, so would not wright off on power. Good in many ways. Main gripe is electronic rear linkage control. Temperamental; sometimes need to reset 2 or 3 times to wake it up and if turn engine off with load on back, links drop a couple of inches...

    Bedder/feeder

Out of interest. What make unroller have you and is it on loader or back linkages. Thinking an unroller would be better for feeding round bales.

    Bedder/feeder

Thanks for replies. Had a McHale demo this morning Handled the long dry sileage quite well. Getting the straw to feed in steady (bit of a solid, stuck together bale) was bit of an issue so with low throughput and a windy day 1/2 bale seemed to blow in one side of building and out the other...

    Bedder/feeder

Hi Looking at getting a bedder/feeder. Large square straw. Need to blow approx 10m. Haylage, (long single cut meadow) in round bales feed along a barrier. Local offering seems to be McHale 460, Teagle 8500, Kidd 450, Kverneland 863. Seen lots of reviews on McHale but little on Kidd. Any...
